“They say great minds think alike. It’s certainly true for this tune. And it seems to be having a moment again in 2020. You can hear the Quincy Jones version in the Vegas scene in “Queen’s Gambit” on Netflix. For us, it started as a version Mark Brickman did sampling Mel Tormé’s 1962 version. I then got involved as a remixer and enjoyed remixing it so much we joined forces for a full recreation of the song. I then heard from David Penn that he was working on a version too and so now we have a remixing coming from Mr. Penn & KPD. The version Mark and I have done takes the looping jazz vocals and wraps them up in a banging piano beat.
