We are delighted to welcome Rowetta to Glasgow Underground. The Happy Mondays member and former X-Factor star is a bona fide dance music legend. Her voice has been a continual presence in nightclubs since her first release (with Sweet Mercy – “Reach Out”) back in 1990. Its iconic Acappella has been sampled over 20 times and featured on some landmark dance music. Slam’s incredible “Eterna” from 1991 was the first. Since then, Steve Angello, Klangkeunstler and Todd Terry have employed cuts from it in their hits. Even the Black Eyed Peas have sampled her!
Here she teams up with Toronto Tech-house specialist Vaxx to deliver a stirring call back to the dancefloor (something I think we can all agree we need!).
