Lights Go Down EP Ed Mahon Sprechen

From being a long-time supporter of Sprechen and on the back of an appearance on a previous Edgy Future Discotheque compilation, we are very thrilled and excited to announce the arrival of Ed Mahon’s first 3 track E.P. for us which packs a plethora of the favoured sounds by this Northern powerhouse. From acid-chug to dark tweaky late-night affairs then right back to a sun drenched after hours at sunrise (or sunset depending how long you’ve been up for!). It’s all here!

Title track Lights Go Down is a murky voyage for twisted discotheques attendees who favour the more deeper side of dance music. Sounded like a lost sibling of Baby Want’s To Ride complete with haunting vocal & melodies. Like a cosmic horror film score!

Don’t Be Serious blasts right off into the cosmos of the chuggy outer regions of the ‘end fo the night’ stratosphere. Very much ‘Weatherall-esque’ in its balance between banger & beautiful, this has 1 last tune stamped all over it. Especially when those big E style strings & pads come in.

As with all things, the best is saved for last and here it’s the absolute stunning Say You Care. Positively pulsating with beach bar & sunset vibes, this is a truly stunning way top close of the E.P. and is destined for many of the chill out & balearic heads. Its already been soundtracking Cafe Mambo in 2023! Lush vocals by Louise Spiteri wrapped around soaring keys, strings, pads and a blooming amazing jazz style vibraphone breakdown that would give Roy Ayers a run for his money,
